Markheim has just murdered an antique dealer, and he is about to take his money. But who is the strange figure who comes to talk to him about evil?

No one knows much about Mr Fettes, except that he once studied medicine, and he drinks a lot. Then one day a famous doctor comes to town. Fettes asks the doctor a question, and the great man gives a cry and runs from the room. What terrible secret from the past do these two share?

Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Scotland over one hundred years ago. He studied to be a lawyer, but later became a great writer. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde has been a favourite horror story for generations of readers.
